State supported, forcible religious conversions during the Muslim and colonial rule, deserve to be condemned. They are however now part of history. The descendants of those converted are today citizens of free India and have the right to profess their faiths.
If conversions are taking place in free India, we ourselves are to blame for it. They are primarily due to deprivation under an anti-people, exploitative system of governance.
Hindu organisations should persuade the Prime Minister to institute Ram Raj in the Constitution so that both exploitation and deprivation can be eradicated. Only then will they have the moral basis to extol Hinduism.
